Former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand was on hand for Sunday's big 1-0 victory of the LA Galaxy, his first ever New York Red Bulls match. He was joined by his occupational therapist Syndi Granger, as he spoke with members of the media and met with Red Bulls players prior to and following the match. In this short Q&A, LeGrand recaps his experience, his excitement for the win, and the endless support shown from Red Bull Arena's South Ward. You can follow Eric's journey on Twitter and Facebook.
Welcome back to Red Bull Arena. This isn’t your first time here, but it is your first time for a Red Bulls Game. How was this different?

It was crazy. The last time I came here it was USA vs. Ecuador, so it was filled with all Ecuadorian fans and stuff, but now this time it was all the Red Bulls guys. That Viking Army, the whole game they were going. I was staring at them and it was pretty cool. Definitely a good experience.

And how about that game? To see it end the way it did in front of this crowd.

The way it ended. I don’t know how that happens when you play 90 minutes with no score and the last minute you get the goal, I know for all the players it’s probably like, [crazy].

But that’s soccer though, right?

Exactly. They’re used to that kind of stuff.

And then you come in here, you see a little bit of a rainy day, did you expect it to be as good a game as it was?

Yeah well, there was a good turnout for a rainy game like that. So you have dedicated fans and it was good to come by and see this thing.

Would you say you’re a soccer fan?

I am a soccer fan. I’m growing more and more on it. I’ve been playing FIFA since I was a young guy.
