The Red Bulls Academy continued to dominate at all levels last weekend, with four different teams posting shutout wins to remain in first place in their respective divisions.

At the U-18 level, the Red Bulls maintained their hold on first place (on a points-per-game basis) in the Northeast Division of the USSF Development Academy with a 2-0 win over Albertson, using a squad that included first-team pros and United States U-20 call-ups Matt Miazga and Amando Moreno. Having tied two of their three previous meetings, New York (5-0-1) broke a tense deadlock with two goals in three minutes at the Red Bulls Training Facility in Hanover. In the 70th minute, Arun Basuljevic (Mahopac, N.Y.) set up Anthony Viteri (Queens, N.Y.) for a left-footed blast into the top corner. The goal seemed to energize the Red Bulls, and they doubled their lead in the 72nd minute. Derrick Etienne (Paterson, N.J.) scored his fifth goal of the season with a 12-yard shot into the lower right corner after a pass from Alex Tejera (Ossining, N.Y.).

"Albertson is always one of our biggest rivals," man of the match Chris Lema (Ridgefield, N.J.) said afterward. "We knew we had to do a good job keeping possession and moving the ball. Although we found it hard at times to keep possession against the Albertson pressure, our goals today resulted from good combinations and our movement off the ball."

At the U-16 level, the Red Bulls also shut out Albertson, 4-0, to remain atop the Northeast Division standings. New York (6-0 in USSF play) got two goals from Chris Flores and single tallies from Breno Lutosa and Kyle Zajec, while Ethan Lochner notched three assists and Tom Lapinas earned the shutout in goal.

Both of the older Academy teams are in action this coming weekend, facing Bolts Celtic on Sunday in Newton, Mass.

The U-14 Red Bulls improved their record to 8-0 with an 8-0 win over Albertson on Sunday. The squad will travel to North Carolina next weekend to face the Philadelphia Union and Georgia United, two games that conclude the fall portion of the U-14 Academy season.

The 2000 pre-Academy Red Bulls also beat Albertson, improving to 10-0 on the pre-Academy season with a 6-0 win. Jack Valderrabbano had two goals and two assists, and New York also got goals from Kevin Alvarado, Thriston Briscoe, Thomas Miazga, and Christian Puccio.
