Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bull captured the 2014 New York Cup on Saturday, July 26, when they defeated Arsenal FC of the English Premier League 1-0. Bradley Wright-Phillips netted the lone goal in the win as the Red Bulls took down the 2014 FA Cup Champions at Red Bull Arena.
Henry, Arsenal’s all-time leading goal scorer, was credited with a secondary assist on the Wright-Phillips’ goal. The captain’s corner kick in the 32nd minute was headed back across goal by defender Ibrahim Sekagya and eventually finished off by Wright-Phillips.
