2014 AT&T Goal of the Year - Final Round

HARRISON, NJ (November 21, 2014) – New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry and goalkeeper Luis Robles are both finalists for the 2014 MLS Goal of the Year and Save of the Year, respectively. Voting for both finalists begins today at 12:00 PM ET and closes on Wednesday, November 26 at 11:59 PM ET.

Early in the second half on September 6, Henry put New York ahead 2-0 with a right-footed shot from outside the 18-yard-box. Midfielder Lloyd Sam cut inside towards the top of the area and played a pass to Henry in the 51st minute and the captain did the rest.

After taking one touch inside, Henry ripped a right-footed shot across the face of goal and buried his eighth goal of the year.

Henry finished the season with 10 goals and tied for second in the league in assists with 14, a single-season career high.

2014 Save of the Year - Final Round

With his team leading Seattle Sounders FC 4-1 on September 20, Luis Robles came up with a huge double-save to keep his team comfortably ahead in the 69th minute.

Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa took a left-footed shot from outside the 18-yard-box that deflected off Red Bulls’ defender Jamison Olave and changed directions, forcing Robles to go back across his body to make the initial save.

Robles’ save deflected right into the path of Sounders’ forward Clint Dempsey who headed the rebound towards goal, but Robles extended fully to his right to make the second save.

Robles finished the season tied for second in the league in saves with 111, including a career high 10 saves against New England on June 8.
