After enduring a month-long tailspin, the New York Red Bulls finally made a return to the win column with a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night.

Mike Grella scored a fourth-minute goal and the Red Bulls were able to comfortably see out their first win since May 10 as the visitors ended the match with nine men after red cards in each half to playmaker Javier Morales and Demar Phillips.

Head coach Jesse Marsch made five changes to the lineup that fell 2-1 to Vancouver on Sunday night, and those changes paid near instant dividends with two new additions linking up to assist New York’s lone tally.
