New York Red Bulls II are set to face Saint Louis FC at the Red Bulls Training Facility on Sunday. Red Bulls II enter the match on a two-game winning streak, and have won five of their last seven matches. They also won their mid-week charity match against Newtown Pride FC, 5-1. Stefano Bonomo scored his first goal since signing this week, while both Juan Sanchez and Alex Clay scored twice in the victory. With a win, NYRB II will have a chance to move into fourth place, pending a Richmond Kickers draw or loss.

This is the second and final regular season meeting between the teams. In their first fixture on June 27, NYRB II went on the road and grabbed a victory, 4-1. Franklin Castellanos and Marius Obekop both tallied while Konrad Plewa scored twice in the victory.

Last weekend, Chris Tsonis was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance against Richmond Kickers. He scored two goals in the match, giving him four total on the season, which levels him with Anatole Abang for most goals on the team this season

Daniel Bedoya has scored two goals in the last two games, including one last weekend against Richmond and one the week prior against Harrisburg City. Bedoya, who has accumulated four yellow cards this season, will be suspended for one match if he receives another booking this weekend. Mike Da Fonte received his fifth yellow card of the season against Richmond, and will serve a one-game suspension this weekend.

Multiple Red Bulls II players also participated in Sunday’s International Champions Cup match against Benfica, a 2-1 win for RBNY. Tyler Adams, Anthony Wallace, Leo Stolz, Karl Ouimette and Manolo Sanchez all started, while Marius Obekop, Anatole Abang and Shawn McLaws made substitute appearances.

Stefano Bonomo, the newest face in Red Bulls II training, signed with the team this week. The former University of California forward joined the team after being drafted by the Red Bulls in the second round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Bonomo could make his first USL appearance with NYRB II as soon as this weekend after scoring in his debut against Newtown Pride FC.

For Saint Louis FC, they enter the match in need of win. Currently in eighth place, they stand a mere three-points outside of playoff position. Saint Louis played out a scoreless draw in their last match against Oklahoma City Energy FC, and are 2-2-1 in their last five matches.

Saint Louis boasts a pair of goal threats, Bryan Gaul and Jermie Lynch, who have both scored four goals this season. Lynch scored against NYRB II in their first encounter, but the strength of the team since that match has been goalkeeper Alec Kann. Kann, who appears to have claimed the starting job, has posted an impressive 1.05 goals against average and four shutouts through 11 starts this season.
