HARRISON, N.J. (May 28, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls extended their winning streak to three games on Saturday night with a 3-0 win over Toronto FC at Red Bull Arena. Bradley Wright-Phillips netted a franchise-record fourth career hat trick, while Luis Robles made seven saves for his third-straight shutout.

New York is now 6-7-1 on the season, and 5-2-0 at home. The Red Bulls are 13-7-5 all-time against Toronto FC, and 10-2-1 in games played at home. With 19 points, New York is atop the MLS Eastern Conference, tied with Philadelphia on points. The Union were also in action Saturday night.

Wright-Phillips set an MLS record with three goals in the opening 27 minutes. His first goal came in the third minute when he headed home a Sacha Kljestan free kick. Kljestan found Wright-Phillips for the second goal in the 25th minute, and Grella and Felipe set up BWP on the third goal.

Wright-Phillips is now tied for the MLS lead with eight goals, while Kljestan leads the league with 10 assists this season.

BWP’s fourth career hat trick set a new franchise record, and tied him for the second-most career hat tricks in MLS history. Stern John and Diego Serna hold the MLS record with five career hat tricks each.
Wright-Phillips now has 53 regular season goals for his New York career, putting him second all-time behind Juan Pablo Angel’s 58. Wright-Phillips passed Thierry Henry on the all-time list with his second of the night.

Robles and the Red Bulls extended their shutout streak to 317 minutes, the second-longest streak in MLS this season. The seven saves on the night are a season-high for the Red Bulls iron man, playing 90 minutes for the 120th consecutive league game.

The Red Bulls and MLS now break as the Copa America Centenario gets underway across the United States. New York will resume play with a 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match on June 1 (date and time TBD) and return to MLS action with a home match against the Seattle Sounders on June 19.
