Mike Grella scored the fastest goal in MLS history against Philadelphia Union on Oct. 18. Philadelphia started the game with an errant back pass off the kickoff. Just seven seconds into the match, the Long Island native latched on to the misplayed ball and glided past Union defender Steven Vitoria before beating goalkeeper Andre Blake with a deflected strike for his first of the match. Grella added another goal before halftime and the Red Bulls went on to win in their last home game of the regular season, 4-1.
