HARRISON, N.J. (January 13, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls have sent the club’s fourth-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft to D.C. United, to fulfill a conditional pick included in a trade that allowed New York to acquire left back Kemar Lawrence.

The 2016 MLS SuperDraft kicks off tomorrow, January 14, with the first two rounds taking place in Baltimore. The third and fourth rounds of the MLS SuperDraft will take place next week via conference call.

The Red Bulls completed the transfer of Lawrence from Jamaican club Harbour View FC in March of 2015. Lawrence started 23 matches for New York in his first MLS season, and recorded his first MLS goal on October 18 against Philadelphia. He also added four assists, all game-winners.

The Kingston, Jamaica native also excelled on the international stage in 2015, featuring for the Jamaican National Team in both the Copa America and Gold Cup Tournaments.

The New York Red Bulls open the 2016 season at home on Sunday, March 6, when Toronto FC visits Red Bull Arena. For information on tickets, visit www.newyorkredbulls.com or call 1.877.727.6223
