New York Red Bulls II Sign Tim Schmoll

HARRISON, N.J. (January 26, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls II have signed Harvard midfielder and former New York Red Bulls U-23 player Tim Schmoll to a USL contract, the club announced today.


Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Schmoll, a native of Coppet, Switzerland, played 61 games for the Crimson and started 40 matches. In four seasons with Harvard, he totaled 10 goals and six assists. As a senior, he was named All-Ivy second team and Ivy League honor roll in October. He has also received NSCAA/Continental Tire Third Team All-Region and All-Ivy League First Team accolades as a junior.


In 2015, Schmoll joined Red Bulls U-23 in the USL Premier Development League (PDL). He played as a center back and helped New York to a 9-2-3 record. Schmoll was instrumental to New York reaching the PDL Championship game and was named to the PDL All-Eastern Conference team.


Prior to Harvard, Schmoll was a starting midfielder on the varsity soccer team all four seasons at International School of Geneva. He captained the team his senior year and was named High School Team MVP in 2010. The midfielder was a member of the ADIS state champion team in 2011 and named an honor roll student each quarter of high school.
