New York Red Bulls II aims to return to their winning ways on Saturday, May 7 at Highmark Stadium against Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

New York’s loss last weekend against Charlotte Independence brought their five-game unbeaten run and their 418-minute shutout streak to an end, both club records.


Red Bulls II currently stands in fourth place of the Eastern Conference with a 3-1-2 record and 11 points, behind only Charlotte, FC Cincinnati and Louisville City FC. New York holds one game in hand on Cincinnati and two games in hand on Louisville.


Red Bulls II has a perfect road record entering Saturday’s match, 2-0-0. Their away wins came against Louisville and Wilmington Hammerheads FC.


This is the first of two meetings between the Riverhounds and Red Bulls II this season. In their last outing, Red Bulls II eliminated Pittsburgh from the 2015 USL Playoffs in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in overtime, 4-2, at Red Bull Arena.


Goalkeeper Rafael Diaz allowed his first two goals of the season vs. Charlotte. Diaz, who has a 0.70 Goals Against Average this season, has played three games and posted two clean sheets.


Pittsburgh enters Saturday’s game searching for their first win of the season with a 0-2-3 record. In two games played at Highmark Stadium this season, the Riverhounds are 0-2-0. Forward Romeo Parkes leads Pittsburgh in scoring with four of their six goals this season.
