HARRISON, N.J. (May 18, 2016) – New York Red Bulls academy player Noah Powder has been called up by U-20 Trinidad & Tobago Head Coach Brian Williams for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union opening round of qualifiers for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea.
Powder, a native of Maplewood, N.J., is a member of the Red Bulls U-18 academy team and New York Red Bulls II. The 17-year-old defender started his first professional game as an amateur in the United Soccer League on March 26, 2016.
Powder has played in seven games for Red Bulls II for a total of 437 minutes. In the 2015-16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) season, Powder has played 12 games, including 10 starts, for the Red Bulls U-18s and scored two goals. With Trinidad & Tobago, he participated in the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championships in Honduras in which he started all five matches and scored two goals.
The Trinidad & Tobago U-20s are beginning preparations for the Caribbean Football Union opening qualifying group phase from June 15-19 and the 2017 FIFA Under-20 Men’s World Cup in South Korea.
