  • The New York Red Bulls defeated the Chicago Fire, 1-0 on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena. Mike Grella scored the game-winner for New York, while Luis Robles made two saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
  • Mike Grella got his fourth goal of the season in the 58th minute. The play started with Lloyd Sam pressuring on the right side, and Bradley Wright-Phillips jumping on an errant back pass. Wright-Phillips left the ball for Sam with a back heel pass, and the midfielder picked out Grella on the left side of the box.
  • Grella’s goal was his team-leading fourth of the season.
  • New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles tied another MLS record on Wednesday night. Robles tied Chris Klein’s record for most consecutive MLS games started with his 118th start for New York.
  • The shutout was New York’s second clean sheet of the season. It was also the first 1-0 victory of the year for the Red Bulls.
  • New York is 16-26-10 all-time against Chicago, and 12-11-3 at home. New York is 5-2-1 at home against the Fire since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010.
  • New York is 42-40-20 all-time in the month of May. The Red Bulls have scored 150 goals in May all-time and have conceded 149 goals during the month.
