Military Veteran To Receive Trained Service Dog On Behalf Of Southern New Hampshire University and New York Red Bulls

HARRISON, N.J. (May 26, 2016) -- The New York Red Bulls will host 100 guests of military families for a pre-match on-field flag ceremony honoring veterans and will provide a military veteran with a service dog in training in partnership with Southern New Hampshire University.  The selected veteran also will receive a scholarship from Southern New Hampshire University to support the transition from military to civilian life through higher education.


Who: New York Red Bulls and Southern New Hampshire University 


What: Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and the Red Bulls will present a military veteran with a service dog in training on the field of Red Bull Arena during halftime of the club's match vs. Toronto FC. 


Why: The Red Bulls have partnered with Paws of War, an organization that trains and places rescued dogs with United States military veterans suffering the emotional effects of war, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These dogs serve to provide independence for these veterans. 


When: Saturday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. 


Where: Red Bull Arena, Harrison, NJ
