Another one Unbeaten

New York Red Bulls II are now undefeated in nine games, with their last defeat coming against the Charlotte Independence back on May 1.

Since May 1, NYRB II holds a record of 6-0-3 and stands in second place in the Eastern Conference, behind only Louisville FC. In those nine games, New York has scored 14 goals and conceded just 4 times.

Red Bulls II had an impressive four-game shutout streak, recording 1-0 wins against FC Montreal, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Bethlehem Steel and the Harrisburg City Islanders.

Back on the Road

Red Bulls II will hit the road this weekend and travel up north to face FC Montreal. Saturday will be the second of three meetings between the two teams. Last time out, Red Bulls II came out as victors with a 1-0 score line. Junior Flemmings scored the winner in the 90th minute off a cross from defender Konrad Plewa.

The match against FC Montreal will be the first of a three game road trip for New York. Red Bulls II will then finish their road trip against the Charlotte Independence and FC Cincinnati.

NYRB II will hop on the road with confidence, as they are yet to lose away from home. Red Bulls II has a road record of 5-0-1, with their only tie coming on June 19, to Orlando City B. The squad has only allowed three goals away from Red Bull Arena.

World Beaters: Club América

On a hot night that featured many young players, the New York Red Bulls beat Mexican giants Club América 2-0 at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday.

New York showed its depth in the friendly, fielding a total of nine USL signed players in the match. The roster included all but one player (Chris Duvall) who has featured for NYRB II this season.

Dan Metzger’s goal gave the Red Bulls some insurance in the 53rd minute with his dipping shot from outside the 18-yard box to give the squad a 2-0 lead.

The victory against Club América is the second victory for NYRB II players against an international opponent, after they defeated Chelsea FC last season in the International Champions Cup.
