Scouting Report
The Red Bulls will look to build off of a 2-0 win against Orlando City SC on Wednesday night. New York has struggled on the road this season, and an away match at Talen Energy Stadium will be no easy task. The Union are tied with the Red Bulls, FC Dallas and the Colorado Rapids for the most home-wins so far this season.  Philadelphia is coming off of a 3-0 victory on Saturday at home against D.C. United.

After not playing in the game against Orlando, Sacha Kljestan will be well rested and will look to play a big factor in the outcome of Sunday’s game.  The Union have given up the sixth-most goals at home in the league this season so look for Kljestan and leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips to be involved.

Although defender Gideon Baah has been lost for the season due to a broken tibia, the Red Bulls backline is starting to find some consistency in the starting lineup.  The acquisition of Aurelien Collin has solidified part of the center back position for New York and the return of Damien Perrinelle adds some needed depth to the defense.  The Red Bulls will have their hands full with the Union offense, which has scored the most goals in the league so far this season.

Former Red Bulls forward Sebastien Le Toux, Philadelphia’s leader in assists, has thrived against New York in his career, scoring six goals and three assists in 16 games played.  Paired with Chris Pontius and Roland Alberg, who both have six goals, the Union have been able to have a good season thus far, where they are currently sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of the Red Bulls with a game in hand.

Following Sunday’s game, the Red Bulls will return home for the final New York Derby of the season against NYCFC on Sunday, July 24.  Kickoff at Red Bull Arena is set for 1 pm E.T. (TV: FOX, Radio: Red Bulls Radio in English/Spanish on TuneIn).
