On the Video Assistant Referees:

Yeah obviously we get the benefit of a few calls through the implementation of it and it’s a credit to MLS and to USL that they want to be on the front foot as far as technology and the game of soccer and advancing the game of soccer and advancing the product. I’m all for that and I’m glad to be a part of it because we consider ourselves an innovative, aggressive and advanced team. To be a part of something in that vein is important to us and I think it’s a step. It’s certainly not perfect but I think that it went well. If those decisions go against me, maybe I’m a little more against it, but overall I think it went pretty well and it didn’t affect the game. Obviously there was a change in the calls, but I don’t think it slowed the game down in too many respects. For the first time I was a little concerned before the game, but it went overall pretty well.

On tonight’s match:

Obviously there was a lot to deal with today between the weather, the heat, the video replay, a good [USL] team that’s been undefeated for nine games there was a lot for our guys to deal with and we came out on top in a lot of ways in the game. Give credit to our guys and their focus and determination to be able to put a lot into the game.

On why his attack is so strong as of late:

A lot of those goals come late and I think a lot of it has to do with the way we play. Most teams score a goal and mentally go into a shell or defense and we try and counteract and go after the game. Even if we score one or two it doesn’t matter we still try to play into the other team’s press and play forward and a lot of times when teams go down and they open up against us it presents us with a lot of opportunities so the last two games we’ve been fortunate enough to capitalize on those opportunities.

On how the new academy players in the roster performed today:

One of the tricky parts of the season is when the 18’s transition and start going to school and to college and you have to transition into the new group of 18’s in that August timeframe and it just shows that our academy is continually putting out players. They’re talented players and they’re confident kids and we had a lot of faith in the kids that we had in the game. Again, credit to our coaches, kids, and academy. They’re ready to play, even as young amateur players playing in a professional game. Obviously the game went well and allowed a number of guys to step out on the field, but that’s good and that’s what this team is about.

On how he is feeling about the upcoming match against Louisville:

Great, our team has been very good all year. We had a little blip on the radar where we lost two in a row but we clearly bounced back and it’s a good time to be having a bunch of guys contribute and be a part even though things are changing and guys are moving in and out. Guys are still contributing and it’s a credit to the club, the team, and the players. So we’re excited, it’s going to be a very good one. Louisville is a very good team and it’s a one and two type of game, they’re a very good team and we’re a very good team so I’m excited for our guys to be in a real competitive game that’s going to help them get better.
