SAN SALVADOR (August 16, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls earned a 1-1 draw at Alianza FC on Tuesday night at the Estadia Cuscutlan in Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Play. Omer Damari scored his first goal as a New York Red Bull to earn the road point.

New York is now 1-0-1 in CCL play, and sits atop Group F with four points. New York has two games remaining, another against ALianza FC at Red Bull Arena, and a trip to Guatemala for the second meeting with Antigua GFC in late September.

Alianza went ahead in the 54th minute with a stunning goal off of a free kick from just over 20 yards. The shot from Alexander Larin rocketed into the top corner, leaving Luis Robles no chance to react.

Damari equalized in the 71st minute, finishing from close range after a Sacha Kljestan corner kick was headed down by Justin Bilyeu.

New York returns to league play on Sunday with a trip to D.C. to face Atlantic Cup rival D.C. United. Kickoff at RFC Stadium is set for 3 p.m. with coverage on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and Red Bulls Radio.

The Red Bulls are next home the following weekend, August 28, to host the New England Revolution.
