The New York Red Bulls will hold a moment of silence pregame to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001. New York extended its unbeaten streak to a franchise-record ten games last weekend with a 1-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place. New York is on a four-game winning streak in its last four MLS home matches as part of the ten-game streak. The Red Bulls are 10-2-1 at home this season, the fifth-straight season New York has won 10 or more games at home. The Red Bulls have won 10+ home contests in six of the seven seasons Red Bull Arena has been open.

The Red Bulls are 0-1-1 on the season against D.C. United. D.C. United enters at 7-9-11, and sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, two points below the red line. Lamar Neagle and Patrick Mullins lead D.C. United with five goals apiece, while Luciano Acosta paces the club with eight assists.

New York is 8-5-5 against Eastern Conference teams this season.
