New Synthetic Turf Soccer Field To Be Unveiled In Kearny

Kearny Field

New York Red Bulls, U.S. Soccer Foundation and BJ's Wholesale Club Team Up to Provide Soccer Town U.S.A. Youth with New Safe Place to Play

Aspiring soccer players in Kearny have a new synthetic turf field this fall thanks to support from the U.S. Soccer Foundation, New York Red Bulls, and BJ's Wholesale Club. On Tuesday, October 4th the new turf field will be unveiled at the Town's Futsal Facility. The mini-pitch was initially installed in 2009 and, after being heavily utilized by local youths and adults for seven years, was replaced by Hellas Construction.

This project is part of the New York Red Bulls' and U.S. Soccer Foundation's commitment to offer safe places to play in communities across the New York/New Jersey area and to provide a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play within local communities in order to support the continued growth of the game in North America.
Following the official dedication, local youth will participate in small-sided matches on the new pitch. New York Red Bulls players will serve as celebrity coaches, and will be available for autographs and photos with event participants.
