USL MATCH PREVIEW: NYRB II Looks to Continue Their Perfect Record Against Louisville City FC

HARRISON, N.J. – New York Red Bulls II hosts Louisville City FC in the winner takes all Eastern Conference Final at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 at Red Bull Arena. The game will immediately follow the first team’s game against Columbus. One ticket will get you into both games.



NYRB II looks to extend the club’s unbeaten streak to 13 games, with 11 victories in the past 12 games. Red Bulls II is 10-2-4 this season at home.


In their previous playoff game, New York defeated Rochester 5-4 in a penalty kick shootout. This came after a back and forth regulation and overtime left the teams tied 3-3. Brandon Allen scored a game-tying penalty kick goal in the 119th minute to send the game to penalties. Allen now has three goals and a converted shootout penalty in two postseason games.


Louisville finished the season at 16-6-8, good for the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Red Bulls II and Louisville have battled four times in their short histories, with the result the same each time. Red Bulls II has won all four games, playing one home and one away game per season the past two years.


Louisville City FC is led by the dangerous Jon Chandler Hoffman, who finished the regular season in a tie for fourth place in the Golden Boot Race with 14 goals. Kyle Smith has recorded six assists on the season. In goal, Gregory Ranjitsingh leads the way with only 19 goals allowed in the 26 games he played this season.


In Louisville’s first two playoff games, they have outscored their opponents 3-0. Kadeem Dacres leads the league in postseason shots, with 12.
