Montreal is coming off an impressive victory over D.C. United. They didn’t have Didier Drogba, who hasn’t played in over a month. Matteo Mancosu picked up the slack, scoring two goals and recording an assist. Ignacio Piatti has lead the team all year, contributing a goal and an assist as well.
Goalkeeper Evan Bush has had a strong season, starting all but one game and finishing seventh in saves. Piatti finished tied for third most goals scored on the season, with 17. Mancosu has come on strong since joining Montreal mid-season, as he has five goals and five assists in eight starts. Montreal holds a 7-5-5 record at home, while the Red Bulls are 3-7-7 on the road.
The Red Bulls last played on October 23, when they defeated the Philadelphia Union 2-0 on the road to end the season. New York will try to pick up where they left off before the bye, as they look to extend their unbeaten streak to 17 games.
