Red Bulls Ready for Montreal 'Wrinkles,' Will Counter with 'Tweaks' of Their Own

Jesse Marsch MTL

Jesse Marsch and the Red Bulls are ready for any "wrinkles" that Montreal may bring into Leg 2 on Sunday.

"They’ll have a week to prepare, so they might throw a couple wrinkles at us," Marsch said. "But we’ll be ready for that."

New York's head coach said that he expects the Impact to be a little more aggressive, since they're on the road.

"It’ll be a chess match and I think that both teams will be trying to cautiously go after the game," he said.

Marsch said the Red Bulls may also have some changes going into the second game, with the Red Bulls down 1-0 on aggregate goals.

"Yeah, we’ll tweak some of our tactics to address what we think can take care of them and throw them off a little bit," he said. "The first 15 minutes will be interesting to watch. We will see what their approach is, and see what our approach is, and we will try to put the game on our terms early and see how it goes from there."

Earlier this week, Marsch mentioned that Daniel Royer and Gonzalo Veron are both options to start or see time off the bench.
