Tim Schmoll signed with New York Red Bulls II on January 26, 2016, and is a former New York Red Bulls U-23 player.
Schmoll grew up in Switzerland and went to Harvard where he played in 61 games over the course of four seasons, scoring 10 goals and six assists.

He helped the 2015 Red Bulls U-23 team to a 9-2-3 regular season record, and they continued in the playoffs all the way to the PDL Championship game. Schmoll was named to the 2015 PDL All-Eastern Conference team.
The defender appeared in 24 regular season games this past season with Red Bulls II, tied for the fifth most appearances on the team. He made his first appearance on March 26th, and scored his first goal on June 19th. Schmoll played the sixth most minutes in the regular season, and in the playoffs, he appeared in all four games.
New York was a remarkable 20-2-6 in the 28 games Schmoll played in this season. He played the full 90 minutes as a starter 14 times, and came off the bench the other 14 games, showing his versatility. His 6’6” frame and experience as both a midfielder and defender will help him be an asset to the Red Bulls organization in 2017.
