HARRISON, N.J. (May 23, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (5-2-2, 18 pts) travel to Historic Crew Stadium to face Columbus Crew 2 (2-4-2, 8 pts) on May 25. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com with Peyton Gallaher on the call.

New York sits in second place in the Eastern Conference and are off to their second-best start through nine games in club history, and the best start since 2019. Red Bulls II are coming off a 4-1 victory over New England Revolution II at MSU Soccer Park on May 18. Forward Tanner Rosborough kicked things off scoring two goals in the 37th and 39th minutes. Panamanian forward Mijahir Jimenez added to the lead in the 66th minute off a cross from midfielder Nehuen Benedetti. New York conceded in the 77th minute but clinched the game in 86th minute when Benedetti dished a ball wide outside the box to defender Copeland Berkley who laced a shot into the bottom right corner.

Columbus are currently in 14th place in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 1-0 victory over FC Cincinnati 2 at Historic Crew Stadium on May 18. Crew 2 scored the lone goal of the match in the 16th minute, when midfielder Cole Mrowka played a ball through to forward Taha Habroune who fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the net.

Through five all time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, New York are 2-2-1 against Columbus. In all five matches, the away side has won, including Red Bulls II being 2-0 at Historic Crew Stadium. The two clubs last faced each other on June 30, 2024, at MSU Soccer Park. Columbus scored two goals in the 44th and 66th minutes courtesy of forwards Brent Adu-Gyamfi and Gibran Rayo. New York answered back in the 66th minute as midfielder Malik Dembele laid a ball off to Rosborough who sent a shot to the bottom left corner of the goal. Crew 2 would finish things off in the 99th minute with a penalty kick goal from Diego Almeida.

New York has never been scored on in road matchups against Columbus and has scored seven goals against Columbus at Historic Crew Stadium.

Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule leads the active roster with three goal contributions against Crew 2.
