MATCH PREVIEW: New York Red Bulls II Travel to NKU Soccer Stadium for a Midweek Clash Against FC Cincinnati 2 on Wednesday, October 1

HARRISON, N.J. (September 29, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (16-5-5, 55 pts) travel to NKU Soccer Stadium for a midweek clash against FC Cincinnati 2 (7-12-7, 35 pts) on Wednesday, October 1. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com with James Hadnot on the call.

New York is unbeaten in their last four matches and sit tied with Philadelphia Union 2 for first place in the Eastern Conference. The side was last in action on September 21 when they faced Inter Miami CF II at MSU Soccer Park. New York scored an early goal in the 11th minute courtesy from a Matthew Dos Santos strike from outside the box. Inter Miami CF II equalized in the 77th minute. The match advanced to a penalty kick shootout where Red Bulls II fell 4-2.

Cincinnati are in a three-way tie for ninth place in the Eastern Conference and are on a two-game win streak. The side is coming off a 4-3 win against Columbus Crew 2 on September 25 at NKU Soccer Stadium. Cincinnati were down 3-2 in the 88th minute but a Stefan Chirla equalizer and Noah Adnan 98th minute stoppage time winner secured the group three points.

Just before halftime Cincinnati equalized from a strike by forward Andres Davila Mosquera. Red Bulls II regained the lead in the 50th minute courtesy from a penalty kick from Julian Hall. Cincinnati equalized again in the 78th minute off a New York own goal off a set piece. The match was level 3-3 after regulation and advanced to a penalty kick shootout where New York fell 4-3.

Red Bulls II are 7-4-2 on the road this season and are 2-1 on the road against Cincinnati. Their seven road wins are tied with Philadelphia and Colorado for the second-most road wins in MLS NEXT Pro this season.

New York are the only team in MLS NEXT Pro this season to not be shutout and have scored in 40 consecutive matches from September 26, 2024 to September 21, 2025. This is the longest goal scoring streak in Red Bulls II history.

Benedetti has been in form, scoring four goals and tallying one assist in his last three appearances.
