New York Red Bulls II Defender Omar Valencia Called Up to Panama National Team for Upcoming CONCACAF Nations League Matches

HARRISON, N.J. (September 7, 2023) – New York Red Bulls II defender Omar Valencia has been called up to the Panama National Team ahead of their upcoming CONCACAF Champions League matches against Martinique and Guatemala.

Valencia, 19, has been with New York Red Bulls II for the last two seasons on loan from C.D. Plaza Amador. The defender has made 17 career appearances for NYRB II, while making 15 starts and recording two assists. Valencia made his debut for the Panama National Team on June 11, 2022, and was most recently called up for their CONCACAF Gold Cup run this past July.

Valencia and Panama will take on Martinique today at 8 p.m. ET. The defender will also be with his nation for their September 10th match against Guatemala.
