The New York Red Bulls host Atlanta United on Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Red Bull Arena in Leg 2 of the Eastern Conference Championship.

Here are 5 Reasons to Attend, presented by Franklin Group...

Home Dominance

New York won 14 of the 17 regular season games played at Red Bull Arena in 2018. The 14 wins set a new league and franchise record for most home wins in a single season. They also set a new league and team record for home points with 43.

They also defeated Columbus 3-0 at home in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on November 11.

Ability to Bounce Back

After each of their seven losses this season, the Red Bulls responded the following game with a positive result. The most recent example came in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, as they fell 1-0 on the road to Columbus before returning home to defeat the Crew 3-0 the following week.

In 44 total matches played in all competitions in 2018, New York has only dropped consecutive games once (April 4 at CD Guadalajara, April 10 vs. CD Guadalajara).

Robles’ Home Shutout Streak

Goalkeeper Luis Robles recorded 11 of his 15 shutouts (regular and postseason) at Red Bull Arena this season, and has not allowed a goal at home since August 5, a streak lasting 577 minutes.

New York as a team led the league in shutouts during the regular season, as Robles had 14, and Ryan Meara had one.

Success Against Atlanta United

Despite falling 3-0 in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Finals to Atlanta United, the Red Bulls have seen great success against them since they came into the league two years ago. In four regular season matches, New York won three, with the fourth being a 0-0 draw on October 15, 2017.

Including the loss on Sunday, New York holds a 3-1-1 all-time record against Atlanta, outscoring them 7-4.

A Chance to Advance

Despite losing 3-0 at Atlanta United last Sunday, the Red Bulls still have a chance to advance to the MLS Cup Thursday night. New York needs to be up 3-0 after 90 minutes to force extra time, and could clinch it in regulation with a 4-0 victory.

If the Red Bulls emerge victorious, they would earn their second-ever MLS Cup appearance.
