The Red Bulls U-15, U-16, and U-18 Academy sides wrapped up their fall/winter season this past weekend with a collective 2-1 record in matches against Oakwood. The second half of the season resumes March 2013.

The Red Bulls’ U-15 squad suffered a tough 1-0 loss at the hands of Oakwood despite maintaining strong possession throughout. Scoring chances were limited in the first 40 as both sides entered the half locked in a scoreless tie. In the second half, Oakwood attacked with a higher sense of urgency and capitalized on an aggressive run from Israel Guerrero, who found the back of the net from eight yards out to award his side the ‘W.’

In an effort to seek vengeance for the U-15s, the Red Bulls’ U-16 side handed Oakwood a 1-0 loss in the final meeting of the fall/winter season. Brandon Tetro’s goal in the 34th minute held up for the win, despite the Red Bulls receiving a red card in the 50th minute. Gianni Carillo went the distance in goal for the shutout.

Kerlins Georges opened up the scoring in the third minute of the U-18’s match against Oakwood Saturday evening to help the Red Bulls to an early 1-0 lead. After Oakwood leveled the score in the 30th minute, New York’s Ethan Decker and Alex Muyl scored one each in the 47th and 73rd minute, respectively, to pump the Red Bulls’ lead to two. A late tally from Oakwood in the 76th minute threatened New York’s lead, before Decker scored his second of the match, and third of the season, in the 77th minute to lead the Red Bulls to a 4-2 victory.

As an added bonus, here's some video footage of Alex Muyl scoring two goals against the LA Galaxy two weeks ago during the showcase tournament in Florida:
