2017 Homegrown Game

The New York Red Bulls will have three players representing at the Homegrown Game in Chicago on Tuesday.

Tyler Adams, Derrick Etienne, Jr. and Evan Louro were selected by head coach Brian McBride and assistant coach Mike Magee to take on Chivas de Guadalajara Under-20 Team in the fourth annual MLS Homegrown Game presented by Energizer® on Tuesday, August 1 at 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park.

All three Red Bulls called being named to the 18-man roster a "huge honor" and they're all excited to represent their team on a big stage.

"It means everything," Louro said. "I've been [in the organization] since I was 11-, 12-years-old. This was the goal when I started in Regional Development School when I was 8-years-old. It's definitely special."

Adams and Etienne, Jr. both have seen major minutes with the first team in 2016 and 2017, while Louro made his first appearance on the 18-man gameday roster earlier this season.

"The club has been very good to me," Etienne, Jr. said. "For me to be able to put the jersey on as a Homegrown and to represent the team at the Homegrown Game, it's just an honor to be selected."

Adams and Etienne, Jr. both represented New York at the 2016 Homegrown Game.

"I'm most excited to meet up with my fellow [U.S. Men's National Team] U-20 teammates who are Homegrowns for their respective clubs," Adams said. "To play with them, to show our chemistry on the field, will be a good experience."

MLS Homegrown Players aged 22 or under were available for selection.
