Cristian Roldan and the Seattle Sounders thought they had an early lead in the 12th minute. Marco Pappa lined up a dangerous free kick from the right side and sent a cross into the middle of the box. Roldan met the cross with his head and the shot appeared destined to find the back of the net until Luis Robles lunged and pushed away the chance with his left hand. The acrobatic save kept the match scoreless in the early stages.
