Carlos Coronel: ‘I’m Preparing Myself to Have a Great Season’

Carlos Coronel

Carlos Coronel has spent his first days with the club in Florida and is ready to help RBNY achieve its goals this year.

“I feel good. I’m prepared for this new challenge here with the Red Bulls,” said Coronel. “I’m motivated, training everyday intensively. I’m preparing myself to have a great season.”

This will be Coronel’s second time in MLS after playing for the Philadelphia Union in 2019.

“Yes I know MLS, I already played for Philadelphia,” said the 24-year-old goalkeeper. “I hope to have a winning year so we can win and be MLS champions, I imagine that should be our main objective. And of course, this is a very difficult league, which is new, but we’ll prepare ourselves well so we can achieve our objectives this season.”

His time in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg and FC Liefering will allow him to quickly adapt to the identity Head Coach Gerhard Struber is working on giving to RBNY.

“It helps me a little to know the Red Bull philosophy, of course I’m here to help in every way I can in all the training sessions and games,” he said. “I’ll give my all, and with my teammates we’re in a great position to give a great season.”
