“I was born and raised in Manta, Ecuador, a coastal city where football is more than a sport, it is part of everyday life. My family comes from humble roots, and the values of discipline, resilience, and hard work were instilled in me early. My grandfather played a defining role in my love for the game. He didn’t just teach me how to watch football; he taught me how to respect it. Through him, I learned that football is about character as much as talent.
My first experience in the game was with C.D. Sandino, where I began to understand the discipline of training and team culture. At fifteen, I had the opportunity to compete with Atlético Manabí in Ecuador’s second division. That experience accelerated my maturity. Competing at that level showed me the demands of performance, sacrifice, and professionalism.
My first experience in coaching came in Manta, where I assisted at a local academy. It was there that I discovered my true calling. While I loved playing, I found even greater purpose in guiding young players, helping them grow not only technically and tactically, but also as people. I wanted to be the coach I always wished I had, someone who sees the person before the player.
In September 2022, I made one of the most important decisions of my life. I moved alone to New York. Leaving my family, my comfort zone, and everything familiar was not easy, but I understood that growth requires courage. My bilingual education helped me transition smoothly, but culturally and professionally, it was still a major adjustment. I worked as a coach in Queens, where I developed some of my coaching skills.
Joining New York Red Bulls Youth Programs became a turning point in my career. Red Bull’s methodology, standards, and commitment to player development challenged me to elevate my professionalism. In my first year working summer camps, I was honored to receive Summer Coach of the Year. That recognition meant more than an award; it validated the risks I had taken and the standards I hold myself to every day. I was also nominated for the EDP 30 Coaches Under 30, which reinforced my commitment to continuous growth and professional excellence.
Red Bull fits into my coaching story as the environment that accelerated my growth. It provided structure, high standards, mentorship, and daily accountability. It pushed me to think deeper about session design, player psychology, and long-term development. It challenged me to be intentional in everything, from language to organization to leadership presence.

What keeps me motivated each season is simple: impact. Every training session is an opportunity to shape confidence, leadership, and discipline in young athletes. I believe coaching is about creating environments where players feel ownership, responsibility, and belief in themselves. Winning matters, but development matters more. Seeing a player grow in character, overcome adversity, or gain confidence is what drives me daily.
I consistently remind myself that coaching serves as a form of influence. And influence, when used responsibly, can change lives.”
