The New York Red Bulls will face Columbus Crew SC in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoff Eastern Conference Semifinals, as determined by Columbus defeating D.C. United in their Knockout Round matchup.
Following the knockout round match, Crew SC Head Coach Gregg Berhalter said that New York is a good team.
“We have a lot of respect for them and I think it’s great what Chris [Armas] has done,” Berhalter said.
The Red Bulls and Columbus last faced off on July 28 at Red Bull Arena when Columbus edged New York, 3-2.

“We’ll go back to Columbus and we’ll play our game,” Berhalter said. “We want to give Red Bull a difficult time, especially with the ball, and we’re going to do that.”
New York and Columbus clash for the third time in a two-legged series and fourth time overall in the playoffs. Columbus has edged New York in the last two two-legged series by an aggregate of 6-4 (1998) and 2-1 (2015).
Columbus will host the first leg on Sunday, November 4 at 3 p.m. ET. New York will host the return leg on Sunday, November 11 at Red Bull Arena.
