Cristian Cásseres Jr. Makes MLS Appearance No. 100

Cristian Cásseres Jr. notched his 100th MLS appearance in the 2023 MLS season opener.

Cásseres, who joined the club in 2018, broke into the club of August, making his first start on August 29, 2018.

In 2019, he started 20 matches, subbing on in two additional games. He scored three goals and added four assists that season, scoring his first against Minnesota United FC on April 6.

Recorded two goals and three assists in 19 games played with 14 starts in 2020. He tallied his second career multi-point performance with a goal and an assist at New York City FC on November 1.

Over 24 starts (27 appearances) in 2021, Cásseres recorded six goals in 27 games played with 24 starts, which are all career-highs. He also tallied three game-winning goals, which was tied for the club lead. He scored game-winning goal against New York City FC on October 17 at Red Bull Arena.

Over 2,200 minutes in 2022, Cásseres scored twice and added six assists, tied for the team lead. He also led the team with three game-winning assists.

While with the Red Bulls, Cásseres has established himself at the international level, as well. He earned his senior national team call-up on October 10, 2020 to compete with Venezuela in the 2020 World Cup Qualifiers and has appeared in 13 matches with eight starts. He recorded his first start for Venezuela, in 2020, against Paraguay.
