Dantouma Toure

EAST HANOVER, N.J. (February 13, 2020) ā€“ Dantouma Toure has been called in to the U.S. U-17 Youth National Team for the UEFA Development Tournament, U.S Soccer Federation announced today.

ā€œIt feels really good to get my first call-up since I tore my ACL in 2018. It feels amazing to get called up this time. It will be a great atmosphere and I am really looking forward to going to England,ā€ Toure said.

Toure, 15, will be participating in his first competition with the U-17ā€™s after being invited to a training camp two years ago. Since joining Red Bulls Academy in 2018, he has appeared in 20 matches and recorded six goals.

ā€œWe are extremely happy that Dantouma had been called into the U.S. U-17 YNT for their upcoming matches. He has been working very hard to improve his back to goal play and it is great that his efforts have been awarded,ā€ Academy Director Sean McCafferty said. ā€œDantouma has had a very impactful season with the U-19ā€™s to this point, which is especially pleasing considering he is still so young.ā€

The UEFA Development tournament will take place from February 15 to February 25 at St. Georgeā€™s Park in Burton Upon Trent, United Kingdom. The U-17ā€™s will be facing Denmark, Spain, and England.
