Dru Yearwood Looks Forward to New York’s Two Away Games

Midfielder Dru Yearwood has played 105 minutes this season. All of Yearwood’s appearances have been off the bench.

“It’s been good. I think I’m just stamping my mark and getting myself fitter because I didn’t have much of a preseason,” said Yearwood after the 2-0 shutout win over Toronto. “It’s good to integrate minutes in with my fitness stuff as well.”

Yearwood complements a Red Bull midfield depth that includes Sean Davis, Cristian Cásseres Jr., Frankie Amaya, Caden Clark, Youba Diarra, Wikelman Carmona and Florian Valot.

This weekend the Red Bulls begin a two-game string of away games, starting in Philadelphia and ending in New England. Both the Revs and the Union participated in last season’s MLS Cup Playoffs.

“They’re tough games,” said Yearwood. “I think we just got to stick to the same principles that we’ve had in these two home games, just build on it.”

New York visits Philadelphia on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
