Murillo, Escobar, Lawrence, Etienne take part in International Matches this week
HARRISON, N.J. (October 4, 2017) – Four New York Red Bulls have been called in by their national teams for international duty in this week’s FIFA window. Panamanian defenders Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar have been selected for this week’s World Cup Qualifiers, while Lawrence and Etienne will join Jamaica and Haiti, respectively, for friendlies.
Additionally, NYRB II’s Douglas Martinez joined the Honduras Under-22 squad for a pair of matches against the Chinese U-22 team in China on October 4 and October 7.
Murillo and Escobar will join Panama this week for training ahead of crucial matches against the United States on October 6 and Costa Rica on October 10. Both players also featured in the qualifiers at the beginning of September, playing in Panama’s 3-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago. Panama sits in third place in the CONCACAF qualification standards, one point above the United States.
Lawrence and Jamaica will travel to Saudi Arabia for a friendly match against the Saudi Arabian National Team on October 7, while Etienne Jr. and Haiti travel to Yokohama to face Japan on Tuesday, October 10.
