Five days later, he made his first professional start and recorded his first professional goal against Philadelphia Union II on July 22.

Prior to his time with Red Bulls Academy, Edelman played for Players Developmental Academy, where he captained their U-15’s, U-17’s, and U-19’s sides. Other former Red Bulls players that have played for Players Developmental Academy are Daniel Metzger, Jared Stroud, and current New York Red Bulls forward Brian White.

Growing up in Warren, New Jersey, Edelman had the opportunity to attend Red Bulls matches when he was younger with his father and grandfather.
