With their third meeting of 2016 in the books, the New York Derby is officially behind us.

(For the regular season, at least). But before we look ahead to the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Arsenal, let’s take a look back at the latest installment of this budding rivalry as the Red Bulls once again bested their crosstown rivals, New York City FC. As has often been the case when these two teams meet up, Bradley Wright-Phillips got himself on the score sheet, beating Josh Saunders in the 20th minute.

Check out Sacha Kljestan with the nifty pass to split the defense.

Those heel clicks are back, and both Kljestan and BWP were only getting started. Just three minutes later, Kljestan would notch his second helper of the day off of—you guessed it—another set piece for his league-leading 12th(!) assist of the season.

Ronald Zubar rose highest to nod in what proved to be the game-winner. Time to hug it out!

New York’s vaunted high-press caused NYCFC problems all afternoon, and it lead to just their second penalty kick all season after Dax McCarty and Alex Muyl teamed up to force a handball in the box from Frederic Brillant.

Up stepped Kljestan to put the Red Bulls up 3-0 from the spot, capping off an impressive day (1g, 2a) at the office.

Just before the half, NYCFC would receive a lifeline courtesy of a wonder-strike from Tommy McNamara.

But that would be all the traveling support would have to cheer for on the day. The second half saw more domination from the red side of New York, as BWP bagged his brace in the 70th minute.

Jesse Marsch… yeah.

From there, it was smooth sailing for the Red Bulls as the guys had a bit of fun in the waning moments.

Sure things got a bit chippy at times, like when Frank Lampard forgot which football he was playing.

Turns out, he was just trying to get close enough to ask Kljestan what the score line was. Sacha was happy to give him a reminder.

And that was all she wrote! The Red Bulls continued their dominance over NYCFC as the aggregate score stands at 18-5 over their first six matches.

Until next time, so long from Red Bull Arena!
