New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence started and played the full 90 minutes in Jamaica’s Gold Cup Quarterfinals win against Canada, 2-1.

Jamaica pulled ahead early in the 6th minute when Shaun Francis buried a cross from Darren Mattocks.

The Reggae Boyz doubled the lead in the 50th minute, thanks to Romario Williams’ lovely curled effort.

Canada answered back when Junior Hoilett pulled back a goal in the 61st minute.

The Canadians pushed hard for an equalizer, but Lawrence and the Jamaican defense held strong to close out the match and advance to the semifinals.

Jamaica will face the winner of Mexico/Honduras in the Gold Cup Semifinals on Sunday, July 23, at 9 p.m. ET (TV: FS1, UDN).
