GOLD CUP: Murillo and Panama win 2-1 vs. Nicaragua

New York Red Bulls defender Michael Amir Murillo helped Panama defeat Nicaragua, 2-1, in their second Gold Cup Group Stage game to move into first place of Group B (1-0-1, 4 pts.).


Murillo started and played the full 90 minutes in the match.


Nicaragua’s Carlos Chavarria scored the opening goal in the 48th minute, but two minutes later, Panama’s Ismael Diaz equalized in the 50th minute.


Gabriel Torres scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute to secure three points for Panama.


Murillo and Panama finish the Gold Cup Group Stage against Martinique on Saturday, July 15, at 4:30 p.m. ET (TV: FS1, UDN).
