The New York Red Bulls continued preparations for Sunday’s clash against the Philadelphia Union without Mike Grella, Connor Lade and Kemar Lawrence.
“Kemar is sick after coming back from Jamaica, but he will be fine by tomorrow,” Head Coach Jesse Marsch said. “Connor got a treatment Wednesday night and it’s only a couple days before he is back at it again. So I would guess he is out for Philly, but be back soon.”
Mike Grella, who was subbed off at halftime of the U.S. Open Cup New York Derby on Wednesday, took a knock and sat out of training as well.
“He is nursing something in his quad, so we will see what his availability is for the weekend,” Marsch said. “[It’s] been impacting his ability to play full out. We are trying to identify a better treatment for him.”
