The New York Red Bulls continue their 2016 season this Friday May 13th when they travel to the nation’s capital to take on D.C. United.

The match will kickoff at 7:00pm with coverage on UniMas and the Red Bulls Radio Network on TuneIn.

The Red Bulls are undefeated in their last three matches, and they will be looking to extend that streak in week 11. Last week’s match away at Orlando City ended in a 1-1 draw. The goals came from Bradley Wright-Phillips for New York, and Kevin Molino for Orlando.

For the third week in a row, New York’s Sacha Kljestan was named to the MLS team of the week. Thanks to his energy and leadership in the midfield, Kljestan created some important opportunities for the Red Bulls against Orlando City and will be looking to do the same this week against D.C. United.

This game will be the first meeting between the Red Bulls and D.C. United this season, but the Red Bulls are undefeated in the last five matches against D.C. United.

This season, New York is 0-4-1 on the road and D.C. United is 2-3-1 while playing at home.

After Friday’s game, the Red Bulls travel back home to take on the Chicago Fire in a midweek matchup. The teams will square off on Wednesday, May 18th at 7:30pm at Red Bull Arena, with coverage on MSG and the Red Bulls Radio Network.

United will be hosting a New York team for the second straight game, after having suffered a 2-0 loss to NYCFC in RFK Stadium on Mother's Day. D.C. had a modest two-game unbeaten streak end with their loss, while the Red Bulls' 1-1 draw with Orlando City SC last Friday ended a two-game winning streak.

  • The Red Bulls are unbeaten in their last four games in league play against United.
  • United are unbeaten in three straight in the series at RFK, having won two straight in Washington before a 2-2 draw last April 11.
  • The teams also met in the Eastern Conference semifinals last fall, with the Red Bulls winning 1-0 in each leg to advance. It was their second straight meeting in the playoffs, and the third time in the last four years they have met in the postseason.
