INSIDE THE 18: Ashley Fletcher Up Top as RBNY Take on Orlando City SC

The New York Red Bulls will see Ashley Fletcher start at forward as they battle Orlando City SC on Sunday afternoon on ESPN.

Fletcher will be supported by Luquinhas, Lewis Morgan and Omir Fernandez in the attack.

Morgan recorded his first career Open Cup goal in his first appearance in the tournament against Hartford Athletic. Morgan has now scored four goals across all competitions, which leads the club, and all four have come on the road. In his career with Inter Miami CF, Morgan has registered one assist in seven appearances against Orlando.

Cristian Cásseres Jr. and Frankie Amaya lock down the central defense.

In MLS regular season play, New York has only allowed two goals in three road matches, which is the fourth lowest in franchise history. The Red Bulls are 7-1-1 in their last nine MLS road matches and have outscored their opponents, 17 to 5, in those matches.

John Tolkin, Aaron Long, Sean Nealis and Tom Edwards round out the field players, while Carlos Coronel starts in goal.

This will be the 16th overall regular season meeting between New York and Orlando, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 8-5-2 mark. The Red Bulls have won the last two matches, including a 2-1 win at Exploria Stadium on July 3, 2021.

Tom Barlow, Daniel Edelman, Patryk Klimala, Lucas Monzón, Dylan Nealis, Zach Ryan and Dru Yearwood are available off the bench. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.

Caden Clark, Wiki Carmona and Serge Ngoma remain sidelined as they work back from injuries.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 2:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
