INSIDE THE 18: Jesse Marsch Debuts Wrinkles In Leg 2

The New York Red Bulls will take the pitch with a slightly different look on Tuesday night in Leg 2 of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Semifinals against CD Guadalajara.


Bradley Wright-Phillips, Derrick Etienne, Jr., Florian Valot and Daniel Royer will help lead the attack as the Red Bulls push to score at home as they are down 1-0 after Leg 1.


For the Red Bulls to advance to the SCCL final in regulation, New York will have to defeat Guadalajara by two goals. The Red Bulls can force penalty kicks with a 1-0 score line after 90 minutes.


Tyler Adams and Sean Davis will anchor the midfield.


Michael Amir Murillo, Tim Parker, Aaron Long and Kemar Lawrence will look to keep Chivas off the board on defense.


The Red Bulls are unbeaten at Red Bull Arena in Concacaf Champions League play, owning a mark of 5-0-2 all-time. In New York’s previous two home SCCL matches, the Red Bulls have produced five different goal scorers and have held their opponents to just one goal.


Luis Robles will captain the side and start in goal.


On the bench for New York: Fidel Escobar, Alejandro "Kaku" Romero Gamarra, Marc Rzatkowski, Vincent Bezecourt, Carlos Rivas and Ben Mines are available, while Ryan Meara will serve as the backup keeper. 


Alex Muyl and Aurelien Collin are suspended for Leg 2 due to yellow card accumulation. 


Guadalajara comes to Red Bull Arena with a 3-3-1 road record during their Liga MX’s Clausura season. Chivas owns a plus-two goal differential, tallying 10 goals and allowing eight. During their road SCCL matches, Guadalajara defeated Cibao, 2-0, before falling to Seattle Sounders FC, 1-0.
