The New York Red Bulls will rest many of their starters against the Portland Timbers ahead of Leg 2 of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League matchup on Tuesday.
New York will deploy a back line of Connor Lade, Aurelien Collin, Fidel Escobar and Kyle Duncan in front of goalkeeper Luis Robles. Duncan signed with the Red Bulls on Friday.
Sean Davis and Vincent Bezecourt will start in the midfield, behind Kaku -- who will make his first MLS start. Davis is suspended for Leg 2 against Club Tijuana on Tuesday due to yellow card accumulation.
Homegrowns Derrick Etienne, Jr. and Ben Mines will start on the wings for the Red Bulls, with Carlos Rivas starting his first match for the Red Bulls at forward. Mines will also be making his first MLS start -- and his first appearance.
Bradley Wright-Phillips will be on the bench for New York, alongside Tyler Adams, Daniel Royer, Aaron Long, Michael Amir Murillo, Tommy Redding and Ryan Meara.
New York will see four Homegrowns take the pitch in the Starting XI, with one on the bench.
New York and the Portland are set to kick off at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on MSG2 and heard on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.
The Red Bulls are back in action on Tuesday night for Leg 2 of the CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals against Club Tijuana.
