INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Set for First New York Derby of the Season

The New York Red Bulls head to Citi Field to take on New York City FC in the first New York Derby of the 2024 season.

Noah Eile and Sean Nealis pair at center back for New York, with John Tolkin and Kyle Duncan on the outside. Carlos Coronel starts in goal.

This will be the 24th overall regular season meeting between the Red Bulls and D.C. United, with D.C. holding the advantage with a 11-8-4 mark.

Frankie Amaya and Daniel Edelman will anchor the defensive midfield.

New York have won back-to-back matches entering this match with wins against New England and Atlantic Cup rivals D.C. United.

Cameron Harper, Lewis Morgan, Dante Vanzeir and Elias Manoel push the attack for New York.

Harper, Manoel, and Morgan have all recorded goals in back-to-back matches.

Off the bench, Head Coach Sandro Schwarz will have Cory Burke, Julian Hall, Dennis Gjengaar, Dylan Nealis, Wiki Carmona, Emil Forsberg, Bento Estrela, and Andres Reyes available. Ryan Meara will be the backup goalkeeper.

Ronald Donkor, Serge Ngoma, Peter Stroud and Roald Mitchell miss the match due to injury.

The Red Bulls posted a 2-0-1 mark against NYCFC last season across all competitions.
