INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Set for Home Matchup vs. FC Cincinnati

The New York Red Bulls welcome FC Cincinnati to Red Bull Arena on Saturday evening for their second matchup of the season -- the one on home turf for New York.

Patryk Klimala, Caden Clark, Cristian Cásseres Jr. and Cameron Harper will get the nod to start in the attack.

This will be the ninth overall MLS regular season meeting between New York and Cincinnati, the Red Bulls lead the series with a 4-2-2 mark, including a 2-1-1 mark at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls have posted an 9-2-2 record this season when scoring the first goal of the match. FC Cincinnati comes into the match sitting in ninth place of the Eastern Conference with 33 points and are on a four-match unbeaten streak.

Dru Yearwood and Daniel Edelman will lock down the defensive midfield.

John Tolkin, Andrés Reyes, Sean Nealis and Kyle Duncan start along the back, with Carlos Coronel in goal.

Duncan made his return to the Red Bulls on loan from K.V. Oostende in Belgium on August 13. The defender spent four seasons with New York, where he appeared in 73 matches and recorded five goals and ten assists. Duncan has scored one goal and tallied two assists in four career matches against FC Cincinnati. He scored the game-winning goal in New York’s home opener against FC Cincinnati on March 1, 2020. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native registered his first assist back with New York on the first goal of the Red Bulls’ 2-1 victory over Atlanta United FC on Wednesday.

Head Coach Gerhard Struber will have Aaron Long, Dylan Nealis, Lewis Morgan, Frankie Amaya, Steve Sserwadda, Luquinhas, Tyler Pasher and Tom Barlow available off the bench. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.
