INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Take on FC Cincy in Round of 16 Matchup

The New York Red Bulls and FC Cincinnati square off in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday night at Red Bull Arena.

Ryan Meara starts in goal for RBNY, with John Tolkin, Sean Nealis, Hassan Ndam and Dylan Nealis starting along the backline.

This will be the 11th overall meeting between New York and Cincinnati, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage with a 4-3-3 mark. 

Head Coach Troy Lesesne will start Peter Stroud, Cristian Cásseres Jr., Dru Yearwood and Cam Harper in the midfield. Tom Barlow and Dante Vanzeir push the attack.

Since 2010, the Red Bulls have recorded a 12-1-2 mark in U.S. Open Cup play at home, including a 10-0-2 record at Red Bull Arena.

Off the bench, Luquinhas, Wiki Carmona, Elias Manoel, Cory Burke, Matt Nocita, O’Vonte Mullings are available. Carlos Coronel serves as the backup goalkeeper.

The Red Bulls are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak across all competitions and have posted three-straight victories at home. New York has only allowed 37 shots on goal in 14 matches played this season, which is the lowest in MLS. The Red Bulls also lead MLS in aerial duels won (332) and recoveries (946).

Andrés Reyes, Lewis Morgan, Serge Ngoma, Omir Fernandez, Frankie Amaya and Steven Sserwadda are held out of the match. Daniel Edelman is away on national team duty.
